Here are some updates about new categories for skilled professionals and high-net-worth individuals that are aimed at boosting UAE’s growth and innovation.
Golden Visa for Educators
Dubai had launched a new Golden Visa category in October 2024 for outstanding educators including teachers. It had also introduced visa for school going children.
Even teachers can now apply. UAE announced this visa keeping in view their achievements, innovation, and contributions they made to improve education.
Recipients also get to sponsor their families. A similar plan for private school educators was set up by Ras Al Khaimah, mirroring its commitment to educational brilliance.
New Dubai Gaming Visa
Dubai has announced a new Gaming Visa under the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033. This 10-year Golden Visa aims at professionals in the gaming industry. Those applying need to be at a minimum of 25 years in age and get recognized by Dubai Culture. Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism also supports gaming professionals, empowering the UAE’s gaming sector.
Golden Visa for Yacht Owners
Abu Dhabi has introduced the ‘Abu Dhabi Golden Quay’ program. This scheme offers a 10-year Golden Visa to wealthy yacht owners with ships 40 meters or longer. The initiative also covers key industry professionals and their families, inspiring investment in Abu Dhabi’s yachting sector.
Changes to Golden Visa Rules
In Dubai, it is a requirement that applicants for the Highly Skilled Professional Golden Visa would operate for the same employer for two years. This would ensure stability and continuity in the workplace.
Introduction of Mission Visa
The DDA Free Zone has launched the Mission Visa for brief work. This visa is accountable for three months and has the potential to be extended for another three months. Companies in the DDA Free Zone are allowed to use this visa for temporary employees.
KSA Mission Updates
Saudi authorities have updated the Qualification Verification Program (QVP) process. Now, applicants need to put forward their QVP approval certificate with their work visa application for it to be considered finalized.
