Staff Report
Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports has announced to launch a digital version of the TM6 Immigration Arrival Card.
This will replace traditional paper forms for foreign travelers. This will start from May 1, 2025 and all visitors either entering Thailand by air, land, or sea will have to use the new online system.
The Cabinet had suspended paper TM6 forms earlier on April 15, 2024. This suspension is ending on April 30 and the digital form will become mandatory for all arrivals.
The government will first implement the digital TM6 before adding new border controls to prevent confusion among tourists.
The new mechanism may result in postponing the planned 300-baht tourist fee.
The digital TM6 is aimed at boosting security and streamline immigration procedures. Under this system, the government has simplified paperwork and reduced bureaucratic hurdles for foreign visitors. By using digital technology, Thailand plans to improve registration and record-keeping, aimed at making travel more efficient and convenient for visitors.
